HIIT

HIIT means High-Intensity Interval Training, is a training technique in which you give all-out, one hundred percent effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short recovery periods. Hiit doesn't need any equipment, just music, a timer and determination

This type of training gets and keeps your heart rate up, increases your metabolism, burns fat, and attend 2 or more times a week and you will see improves your fitness in a matter of weeks.

Box-Fit

Have you seen Rocky?  Boxers are bloody fit.  They push up, jump rope, shadow box, do pad work and bag work, med ball and core conditioning.  This class burns calories and develops muscular endurance, aerobic fitness, coordination, agility, and balance.  You will often work in pairs or teams so it is so much fun!

Abs

Sometimes you just want to get down to it and feel your abs burn.  We have just the class for you.  Spread out through the week following higher impact style classes, you can work just the core, midline and abs in our 15 minute intense Abs lessons.

Personal Training

Maybe you don't feel comfortable in group classes, or you're recovering from an injury and feel like some TLC is in order.  A PT will keep you personally accountable for your actions in and out of the gym.  Whether you're preparing for a wedding, holiday, obstacle course or marathon, arrange a meeting with any one of our awesome trainers and let's get the ball rolling.

Yoga

There are various personal styles of Yoga practices at EDGE and we present them to you with each individual trainer.  You can google each style, but the best way to find out is to try the lessons for yourself.  On the whole, yoga is a spiritual practice, which endeavours to help you to lead an enlightened life.  Use the asana practice at EDGE to learn more about the whole picture yoga can offer. Proper Breathing, proper diet, proper exercise, proper relaxation, and positive thinking.  

Kick Boxing

Kickboxing is a combination of traditional boxing and martial arts. Edge offers 90 minute training sessions to learn to develop self-defence and contact techniques along with providing an excellent fitness workout.  Our fully qualified and experienced instructors have backgrounds in Muai Thai and Shotokan Karate. All levels welcome.

Kinder-Box

Kids aged between 8 and 14 will learn team work and self-discipline whilst increasing stamina, mental fortitude, endurance, concentration and coordination.  

Pump

Using a Barbell, this class works all of your major muscle groups, improve your stamina and strength, and even coordination and skill.  Typically, lessons are split into music tracks with each track dedicated to one or two muscle groups.  Following a warm up, you'll work squats, bench press, lunges, clean and press, upper arms and back, posterior chain and abs (not necessarily in that order).

The weights are adjustable too, so you can change how much you weight you lift depending on your ability, fitness and general mood each day.

Circuits

Set to a timer, you will work the room at different stations to get the most out of the short workout time.  Circuits can be done at your own pace and can be scaled to meet every level of fitness.  Learn new athletic skills and movements, and discover just how hard you can go.  No two classes are ever the same.

Legs, Bums and Tums

This class lasts for 45 minutes and offers a workout targeting the muscle groups in the most popular "problem" areas of the body.  Combine this with a great diet and some regular cardio sessions, and you're onto a winner.  Men and women welcome despite the girly name!!!  

 

Pilates

Pilates is the art of controlled movements, which should look and feel like a workout (not a therapy) when properly manifested. If practiced with consistency, Pilates improves flexibility, builds strength and develops control and endurance in the entire body.  It puts emphasis on alignment, breathing, developing a strong core, and improving coordination and balance.

BossFit

Combining skills and drills from Olympic style weightlifting, body weight gymnastic-type moves, powerlifting strength training, and endurance workouts.  This class is functional training at it's best.  Your general physical preparedness will improve dramatically, and you are coached by enthusiastic and passionate CrossFit Level 1 and 2 trainers.  Learn to move safely, and efficiently so you can increase training capacity and see the benefits to your body.
