HIIT means High-Intensity Interval Training, is a training technique in which you give all-out, one hundred percent effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short recovery periods. Hiit doesn't need any equipment, just music, a timer and determination
This type of training gets and keeps your heart rate up, increases your metabolism, burns fat, and attend 2 or more times a week and you will see improves your fitness in a matter of weeks.
Have you seen Rocky? Boxers are bloody fit. They push up, jump rope, shadow box, do pad work and bag work, med ball and core conditioning. This class burns calories and develops muscular endurance, aerobic fitness, coordination, agility, and balance. You will often work in pairs or teams so it is so much fun!

There are various personal styles of Yoga practices at EDGE and we present them to you with each individual trainer. You can google each style, but the best way to find out is to try the lessons for yourself. On the whole, yoga is a spiritual practice, which endeavours to help you to lead an enlightened life. Use the asana practice at EDGE to learn more about the whole picture yoga can offer. Proper Breathing, proper diet, proper exercise, proper relaxation, and positive thinking.
Kickboxing is a combination of traditional boxing and martial arts. Edge offers 90 minute training sessions to learn to develop self-defence and contact techniques along with providing an excellent fitness workout. Our fully qualified and experienced instructors have backgrounds in Muai Thai and Shotokan Karate. All levels welcome.
Kids aged between 8 and 14 will learn team work and self-discipline whilst increasing stamina, mental fortitude, endurance, concentration and coordination.
Aerobics is a dynamic group fitness workout with rhythmic dance movements to motivating music. Experience the classic exercises from gymnastics and dance with a lot of fun. Learn different steps that are put together in a choreography. The basic aerobic elements support your fitness and endurance and the dance element improves your coordination.
Using a Barbell, this class works all of your major muscle groups, improve your stamina and strength, and even coordination and skill. Typically, lessons are split into music tracks with each track dedicated to one or two muscle groups. Following a warm up, you'll work squats, bench press, lunges, clean and press, upper arms and back, posterior chain and abs (not necessarily in that order).
The weights are adjustable too, so you can change how much you weight you lift depending on your ability, fitness and general mood each day.
Set to a timer, you will work the room at different stations to get the most out of the short workout time. Circuits can be done at your own pace and can be scaled to meet every level of fitness. Learn new athletic skills and movements, and discover just how hard you can go. No two classes are ever the same.
Legs, Bums and Tums
This class lasts for 45 minutes and offers a workout targeting the muscle groups in the most popular "problem" areas of the body. Combine this with a great diet and some regular cardio sessions, and you're onto a winner. Men and women welcome despite the girly name!!!
An hour long class which includes many exercises from LBT (see above) and includes arm and back toning drills. Low impact and always varied, Sculpt will get you nice and sweaty and keep your metabolism working at full blast all day long.
Combining a mix of Pilates, Ballet and Yoga, this gentle flow style lesson is a treat. You will be asked to engage your "power house" throughout, whilst working on coordination, posture, and overall body strength. Not sure if it's for you? This is a fairly slow moving class so you don't need to be naturally coordinated as you would for Zumba or Aerobics. As a bonus, you will be reminded to breathe at the most important times.
The Burn is HIIT, strength and core all rolled into one. A great workout using your own body weight and hand weights for overall strength and conditioning; a burn second to none.
TRX improves mobility and stability, increases metabolic results, builds lean muscle, and develops functional strength.
You can't help but use your core for stabilization in this lesson. If you like yoga and Pilates, you will notice some crossovers in TRX, but it's also great for runners, cyclists, or anyone who is an endurance athlete and wants to have more strength training.
